Zoom ... Zoom ... Chookshed party

It was a hectic work night ... short staffed, busy as all heck ... I didn't think I was going to make it to Chookyblue's zoom party. But after a way too long work night, I finally said enough is enough .... 2:00 am (ET) I turned off my work computer.

Went downstairs, made myself a drink and joined the party ... Chookshed's 10th Anniversary Celebration!

It was great catching up with everyone. I so enjoy these zoom gatherings. I find them inspiring.

Thank you Donna for hosting these ... Happy Anniversary!

December ... My favourite time of the year!

Goodness, time seems to be flying ... December will be over in no time. I am so ready for 2020 to end. I haven't seen my family in over 6 months ... I miss them so much.

Yesterday, I received the wreath I ordered from a local gardening center. I requested a plain wreath with a dark blue bow. When I picked it up, the individual says something to the effect that it was so plain and how he liked the ones with decorations on them. I just replied, "I like things simple". Well, I certainly think it looks gorgeous on my door ... and I especially like my new wreath holder ...

I did put up my Seuss Spruce. It makes me smile ... goodness knows, during these covid times, we all need to smile more often.

And guess who is hanging around? lol

I also decorated my book shelf. I love the little tree skirt. It's my favourite. You can read about the tree skirt here.

It's amazing how a bit of decorating will cheer up a somber mood ... add some holiday music and you're on your way to humming with joy ... ok, and some dancing too! lol

I do hope you have found ways to bring some joy into your life.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner in cyberspace. Cheers!

Happy Birthday Sirius Black!

Wouldn't you know it ... one of my favourite Harry Potter character was born on the same day as moi!

Do you think we'd be compatible given we are of the same zodiac sign? Lol ....

A chapter in my book of life comes to a close ....

I remember Pumpkin's first day of school. Difficult to comprehend where time has gone. From Kindergarten

To graduating from College ....

I am so proud of this kid ... she has turned into a such a beautiful caring and compassionate person ... I love how she decorated her graduation cap .... truly her calling in life

You see, my little Pumpkin has a passion for the environment ... she cares about this beautiful earth that we all live on and has devoted her studies to Environmental Management. Can anyone guess where she got her inspiration?

I'll give you a hint ... those are truffula trees.

More importantly .....

Congratulations Pumpkin ... I love you so much. I wish you all the best as you continue on your life's journey.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner in cyber space. Oh ... I would encourage you to watch the movie The Lorax. A fun and wonderful movie. Catch you all later!

Happy Mother's Day ....!

Are you enjoying time with loved ones?

I am blessed to still have my mum here with me. As I age, I find it more and more important to spend quality time with her. I love her so much ....

Have you ever noticed that as you get older, your priorities change?

Sunday was spent celebrating the day with mom and close family members. Sadly, my little Pumpkin couldn't make it, as she was in the middle of finals. It's her last year!

Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you so much!

Wishing you all a wonderful Mother's Day Celebration!

Happy Valentine's day!

How wonderful that there is a day designated to remembering those we love and how much they mean to us.

I have been fortunate this year to have many people around me that thought of me during this holiday.  Thank you so much for thinking about me. It means a lot to me.

It's been somewhat of a challenging time for me. Lot's of positive changes in my life. However, even thought they are positive and healthy changes, it is still challenging.

I came across this picture posted on Greg Braden's facebook page a while back. It provides a different perspective ...

I love that perspective! Spring will soon be here ... a time to bloom!

Thank you for following my blog. I so appreciate it!

Namaste!

Happy Birthday ....!

Another birth year! Wow, amazing how quickly time flies as you get older!

I used to think that 40 was old .... then 50 and now ... well, I sort of don't think 80 is old at all! lol

When I was much younger, I thought I had all the time in the world. Now that I am moving on in age, I don't feel quite that way. I now understand what my father means when he talks about life expectancy statistics ... and he's 84 years young!

I haven't been up to much these past few months. Certainly not on the quilting front.

Life has been challenging as of late ....

Catch you all later!

Cheers!

And the winner is ... !

I don't know about where you life, but here in the way Northeast NY I can see Canada from my house, it has been bone chilly! We went from spring is just around the corner weather to ... Brrrr! What a shock it was! Mother nature is such a tease! Anyway, I've been concentrating more on keeping warm than anything else!

Yesterday, Sunday, I decided that I needed to fully complete a quilt top that has been hanging off my design wall for the past couple of weeks. I had been working on it a bit at a time and brought it to ... pieced center.

The pattern is called Stardust by Sandy Klop of American Jane Patterns. I used a layer cake from her fabric line Bread 'n Butter.

The goal was ... completely finish the quilt top by putting on the last three borders. Voila!

Today, my plan is to piece the backing and schedule a date with Penelope (my longarm) so I can bring this UFO to a done deal!

As for the winner, congratulations goes to Swooze of Swooze's Quilts and Tall Tales. Kindly send me an e-mail with you snail mail address and I'll get the kit out to you.

Thank you everyone for participating in my 11 years of blogging celebrations.

Catch you all later! Cheers!

Blog land and we have a finish ....!

The other day I was going through some old blogging posts, looking at comments and clicking on the individual's profile, wanting to see what they have been up to! Many were individuals I "used to follow," who inspired me to create. I was shocked to see how many had abandoned blogging. That explains why my feed has so little post for me to read!

I like blogging, it's a great way to catch up with friends on a sleepless night, find some inspiration for that new project.

I'm sure Instagram has something to do with it. It's a lot quicker to take a photo with your smart phone, write a little blurb and post it on a social media site than to write a lengthy post! Oh well, I like blogging!

By the way, Donna at chookyblue reminded me that I have been blogging for over 11 years. We both started around the same time. Wow! Hard to believe that it's been that long already. So, time for a give away! Read on!

On the quilting front, I finished another UFO that was just sitting there, on the back of a chair with other UFOS, patiently waiting ....

This little hand embroidery quilt comes from the back of that chair! lol

The pattern is called Cold Nose, Warm Heart by Buttermilk Basin, started in 2010. I stitched one of these for a swap I participated back in 2010. I liked it so much that I wanted one for myself. Unlike most of my hand embroidery UFOs whereby the squares are stitched, this one was layered and ready to be machine quilted!

Onward to the give away. Leave me a comment by March 13, 2018 and you will be eligible to win the following kit!

The kit includes all the fabric and wool to make this cute wall hanging.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy quilting! Cheers!
