I've been thinking about the Churn Dash SAL and what size quilt/blocks I wanted to make. One thing I was certain, I wanted to use up some of my scraps.
I've decided on the 9 inch block and a bed size quilt.
And I'm thinking ... "it's my last piece, I can't cut into it" ... "I can't get this fabric anymore" ... What is it about fabric that makes
me one want to hang on to it? I seriously started to think about this ... "why do I want to save this last piece?" ... finally reasoned with myself ... instead of having a large piece of it, I'll have it safe in a quilt ... chop ... chop ... LOL
This is what I have cut up so far ... all the backgrounds for the 50 blocks ... I'm still missing a few prints for the blocks.
A true scrappy version, I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
oh your cruising..........I need to start cutting this version of mine.....nice fabrics.....its going to be fun to see everyones come together........
Yes, I'm in the SAL also. So far I've completed 3 blocks but I've sewn the HST's for 27 more blocks. Happy stitching!
Looks really good, Carole! I am sewing along--doing scrappy 1800s fabrics, 9 inch blocks, and bed sized-- like you. Just finished up my 4th block and have 19 more cut and ready, but I am using them as leader/enders. If that doesn't move them along fast enough, I may have to make them my focus for a bit.
You are moving along very nicely. I am still finalizing my decision.
I love scrappy churn dash blocks have made one and and love it! In fact I have made 3 different. Varieties, but does it stop me from a challenge no! I hear you on the in head debate on fabrics now I enjoy cutting into them and putting them into a quilt, the hardest question is which quilt pattern will dawn my favourite fabric? 😂
LOL too funny but know the feeling...going to be very nice!
Ooooh, I love your fabrics and I can't wait to see your quilt progress. If you solve the mystery of what makes us want to hang on to the fabrics -- let me know -- my children would be relieved to have a way for me to reduce my stash LOL.
