Houston Fall Market day 1 ...!

Now that I've taken care of business, let me tell you a bit about my trip.  As most of you who have followed my blog know, I have not flown much.  As a matter of fact, for the longest time I was one of these individuals who had taken off in a plane but had never landed until I was around 44 years old! So, here I am, all excited about flying again and did not have one window seat on any of my flights!  Oh well ....

First stop, Atlanta Georgia.  I had a 3 (three) hour lay over and thank goodness.  Have you ever been to that airport?  It's huge and I do mean huge!  My gosh, you need to take "The Plane Train" to connect to your next flight!!!

Once I arrived in Houston, Texas, I had the opportunity to meet up with the none other .....

Ms. Sharon of Red Geranium Cottage and Carol no blog (I think).  It was great to finally meet Sharon and a bonus to meet Carol.  We had a blast.  Hung out a lot during Market.  By the way, see those margaritas?  There were a lot of those on my trip! ;o)  Yummy.....

That evening, I attended a dinner hosted by FabShop network.  The food was wonderful and you know what I learned besides valuable business information?  They give away a lot of prizes at these events ..... yep....

This was my prize simply for choosing to sit at that seat!  What yummy batiks.  I love Island Batiks.  At the end of the dinner, they drew many prizes .... lots of winners and lots of fun!

I walked to many of my destinations while at Market.  This is what greeted me every evening upon arriving back to my hotel.

Pretty .... In the back of the photo is the convention center!  Went to bed that evening all excited for the next morning.  Tomorrow is Schoolhouse!

Thank you for taking the time to read about my first day.  Catch you later.... Cheers!

Happy birthday, Carole.

Keep the posts coming because I think that the only way I'll ever get to Market is "virtually". *sigh*

Yipee -- you got to hang out with Sharon! I can't wait to hear about your first sample spree LOL.

And now, I'm missing something. " for the longest time I was one of these individuals who had taken off in a plane but had never landed " -- how do you take off in a plane and never land? Were you in the air for days? months? Years???? ;-D
