Hum......!

Well, I WAS going to sit outside and enjoy a bit of Spring weather on my day off .......

I suppose I'll pass on that!  What's with a snow storm in the middle of April?  Aren't we suppose to have April showers?  As I write this blog entry, it's a full fledged snowstorm!!!

Speaking of winter weather ..... it would be appropriate for me to share with you what I have been working on.

Aren't they the cutest!   The pattern is called Little Christmas Stockings by Sue Barri Gaudet!  I must share a story about these little gems.

The Shoppe Troll, as she likes to be referred, pieced these for me.  She's not into hand work and as you know, I certainly am.  When she's at Fibre Junction, I leave some projects for her to work on.

So .... I come in one morning, and see a sample of the stocking she worked on the prior day.

Hum..... Interesting ..... So, I let her know that the stocking looks great except .... she used the back of my hand embroidery work!  LOL

I'll take that as a compliment! ;o)

We both had a good laugh about it when she mentioned that I couldn't argue about the fact that it did have the "prim look".  lol

I think they are adorable!  And .... just in time for this wintry Spring season. ;o)  Well .... in Upstate New York anyway!

April ....!

I think Spring is on it's way!  Not sure about you, but here in Upstate NY, it's been chili!  

It's my understanding that Spring is a time for the weather to tease us about the coming of summer!  Well, I'm patiently waiting! Brrrrrr!

In the meantime, I completed the April Penny Rug of the Month.

I'm enjoying working on these penny rugs! They are so cute!

I've been a busy quilter....!

Yep, I've been in a "production mood".  If you recall, a while back I mentioned how bothered I was that nothing was getting completed.  More projects were being started than finished.

Don't get me wrong! It is fun to start a new projects! I'm all for it! However, after a while I find it creatively draining.

So, I sat myself down and started working on the task of completing something.

Ta dah!  Civil War Melodies (92 x 92)!  One of Fibre Junction's present BOM.

I finished the quilt top last weekend.  What a great feeling it was to complete this project.  It's now waiting to be machine quilted, which will take place soon.  Because .....

I'm on a mission!

 Well, I finally got around to finishing something.  It has been bothering me a bit that I seem to start more projects than I finish.

Alas, I had a play date with Penelope and machine quilted this little gem.

The pattern is called Love & Joy from Crabapple Hill Designs.  It is suppose to be a pillow, but being that I don't sew am more of a quilt kind of gal, I added more blocks and turned it into a wall hanging.

Now onward to another project that needs finishing, but first ..... off to shovel the driveway!

March already ....!

I love the month of March!  There always days that are so warm that you can just feel that spring is in the air!

I've kept myself busy with some wool work and completed the March installment of Penny Rugs thru the year.

They really are fun to make!  A quick project .... instant gratification!
