Monday .... started on a bad foot!

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that not only did you not create, but had no control over it? That's me on this Monday morning .... it's not a great feeling to have to rely on someone else to correct their mistake and make it right.

Then, I read my daily inspirational e-mail from Neale Donald Walsch of Conversations with God and this is what it says:

On this day of your life
Carole, I believe God wants you to know...

...that how bad things may look right now means nothing.
It's how good you know they can look with God's help
that counts.

Life has a habit of changing itself completely around in
24 hours. Heck, in 24
Minutes sometimes.

Don't you dare give up on Tomorrow because of the
way things look Today. Don't even think about it...

Love,  Your Friend...

Neale

Coincidence?

On a brighter note .... I've been a busy bee. I finished Frivol 6 - Vintage by Fig Tree & Co.

You know what that means? Time to start a new project!

Since I'm on the Moda Frivol kick, why not continue? So, I started Frivol 10 - Sugar by Sweetwater! What a cute block .... and cute fabric!

Easy peazy to piece! The quilt was completed in no time!

If you need me, I will be in my sewing studio, my happy place, attempting to calm down and feel better about this situation that not only was out of my control, but hopefully will not escalate!

Thanks for stopping by! Catch you later!

Two halves equals one!

The feet dragging for a week taught me a valuable lesson .... you're too old to pull an all nighter! lol Aging is not for sissies!

Learning from my experience .... I choose to slowly work on the Slice of Cake quilt! The other half was less time consuming than the first half!

It actually stood like that for approximately a week. Well long enough for the weekend to get here and .... for me to need my designer wall again!

Here it presently sits on Penelope, patiently waiting for me to tackle it!

Another project done! A perfect opportunity to start a new one! Frivol 6 - Vintage by Fig Tree!

It's a busy weekend, so I'm not sure I'll get a chance to work on the quilt! Catch you later!

Weekend moment of sanity .... part trois!

By Sunday, I was ready to start a new project. I started Moda Frivol 9.  What a cute quilt! Have I mentioned how I enjoy working on Frivols! So satisfying.

I call this shot ... find Frivol 9! lol

I hadn't taken Snippet off the design wall yet! lol I was in the zone!

Moda Frivol 9 is called Olive and uses Little Miss Sunshine fabric line by Lella Boutique. Here is a close up of the quilt!

I just love how it turned out! That "Penelope" pile is getting bigger and bigger!

Catch you later!  Cheers!

Weekend moment of sanity ... part deux!

Once the table was clean, it was time to get down to business ... start a new project!

Well, you all know how I just love the Moda Frivols ... Seriously, you get to work with a new line of fabric for such a small investment.

With the design wall empty, it was time to begin project Frivol 7 - Heart!

Frivol 7 uses Lisa Bongeon fabric line Song Bird Gatherings!

Voila!

I just love how this little quilt turned out!

Another flimsy added to the pile marked "Play date with Penelope!" Catch you later! Cheers!

I'm on a roll baby ...!

For the most part, I have remained focused, with a few squirrel in between the completion of UFO projects. For instance ....

Squirrel number 1 Frivol 5 - Atelier by Friend General

I really like this little quilt. It is one of my favourite. What I like about these tins is that I get to work with the whole fabric line for a small investment. Some Frivols require extra fabrics (background and or borders) and others, like this one, nada! Binding and backing are not included.

This little quilt looks even better as a display at Fibre Junction.

I am such a push-over for those tins! Pretty soon I'll be Tin Queen! Or should that bee Queen Tin?! lol

So what have you been up to?

Thanks for stopping by! Catch you later!

Weather you like it or not ....!

I don't know where you live, but it sure has been a crazy winter weather wise in my part of the way northeast NY.  Yesterday evening we had a combination of snow, sleet pushed around by winds.  The humidity and wind made it much cooler than it actually was.

Brrr! It was a great time to sit with a quilt on my lap and hand stitch the binding while enjoying a warm cuppa, ok glass of hot tea!

Finished machine quilting the above quilt on Monday. I do enjoy hand sewing the binding on. Although it is time consuming, I find it so relaxing!

I am still attempting to remain focused ..... Let me tell you, it ain't easy for me. I am so all over the place. So many projects needing completion and so many needing to be started .... Squirrel! lol Finished Frivol 2.

Faithful by Minick & Simpson. It uses their recent fabric line Polka Dots & Paisley. I just love how it turned out!

On a side note, my new smaller quilt rack is up on the wall.  The new smaller size is perfect for these quilts, don't you think?

Compared to how they looked on the larger rack!

Much better don't you think? Now I need to look for quilts for the larger rack! It will be a pleasure!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Catch you later! Cheers!

MIA .... yet again!

I really am trying to keep up with my blog. I do enjoy it! It's just that sometimes life gets in the way. Like for instance, I just bought a new laptop for Fibre Junction. The old one was so slooooooooow! It was over 6 years old! That in itself has been keeping me busy ... transferring files ... adapting to Windows 10. We're talking moving from XP to windows! It's slowing me down! lol I do like the touch screen! Given that I do not like anyone touching my screen, this should be interesting!

On the quilting front, I continue to keep focused! Yes, I am trying my best to finish some of the projects on my UFO list.  I'm working on Fivrols.  I fell in love with Moda Frivols! What's not to love about a cute tin and ... working with the latest fabric line from a designer?  The projects are so manageable!

Last week I finished Frivol 3 - Heritage by Betsy Chutchian.

It uses Besty's fabric line Eliza's Indigo! The quilt was fun to makes. There's something to be said about crossing a project off your list!

Now onward to Frivol 5!

The cutting is all done, now it's time to sew!

I do have a stack of quilts to machine quilt this weekend including Frivol 2 and Frivol 4. Time for a date with Penelope!

Thanks for stopping by! Catch you later! Cheers!

And the beat goes on .....!

Wow, I cannot believe I haven't posted in a month. Where has time gone? I kid you not, yesterday I lost an hour somewhere. Has anyone seen it? I had plans to attend the local guild meeting at 6:00 p.m. Closed shop at what I thought was 5:00 p.m. Hopped in my car, drive out of the parking lot, checked the clock and it was 6:15 p.m. What the heck???? Pointless driving down, I'll miss half the meeting!

Anyway, last weekend I vended for the very first time. Never having done this before, I did not accurately calculate the amount of time it would take me to prep everything. There were many late evenings, attempting to look organized. Lesson learned!

We set up booth early Saturday morning, and this is what my booth looked like:

Other side:

I had no idea that my booth was going to be this large! What a fun experience it was for me, met some wonderful quilters.

On the quilting front, I machine quilted Fivrol 1 - Kindred by Bonnie & Camille.

Love how it turned out! This is such a happy quilt ... Hello Darling! such a happy fabric line!

I also finished this little quilt using Holly Taylor's latest line - Winter Song. The pattern is called OSO by Carrie Nelson.  I used one charm pack for the center blocks and yardage for the rest.

I call this quilt, Bear Tracks through the Woods. Carrie's instructions is to use two charm packs and create a scrappy border, but I chose to use yardage.

So, what have you been up to? Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!

Are you Frivoling...?

Have you heard the latest?  Moda has come out with these collectible tins called Frivols! I am such a push over for tins!  Check out Frivol 1!  It even has a clear top!!!!

Every month Moda issues a new Frivol tin that features a designer pattern and a new fabric line! Last month Bonnie & Camille were featured.  The pattern is called Kindred and they used the fabric line Hello Darling!

Now the tin alone was enough to peak my attention but the use of Hello Darling fabric line threw me over the top! lol Love, love, love that line!  I pet it every time I pass by! I love my job! lol

Here is my completed top!

Love how it turned out.  (yes, that's another quilt in the background - You all know that I'm ADDH and OCD right!) lol

I'm hoping to schedule a play date with Penelope this weekend to get it machine quilted.  Would make a great shop sample, that is, until the tins are sold out! (quantities are limited)

So, if you read in the news that a quilter has been injured by a Moda Frivol tin avalanche, that would be me! I'm hooked!

Catch you later!
