Being blown away.....!

Holy cow!  The wind is just howling in the Northern part of New York.  The weather has warmed up to the point of "flash flood" warnings.  Hope everyone is safe!

Last Saturday I experience my first Sun Dog ... parhelion in meteorology talk.

Taken with my phone, it's not a great picture, but that's what I had and I just had to capture it.  Beautiful in person, looked like a vertical rainbow!  NASA, posted a much better picture of moondogs that can be viewed here.  The caption will explain the phenomena.

On the quilting front, I have been working on the February - Penny rug of the month.  Want a peak?

I'm enjoying these little wool projects!  It's so satisfying to complete something.  As of late, I have felt overwhelmed with the number of projects I have going.  I will need to sit myself down and start focusing on a plan!

Thanks for stopping by!  Keep well everyone!  Cheers!

  1. What a beautiful thing to see on your drive.
We got wicked winds too, starting to calm down and the cold is coming back. I am in the process of cleaning and reorganizing to make room for my daughter, they always come back, lol.

  2. It's cold here in Illinois tonight, a good one for sitting fireside and keeping cozy & warm. Doing some blog updates and reading too while hubby watches B-ball on the telly.

  4. I'm with you -- overwhelmed a bit by the projects. I'm thinking I need a few little ones for that instant gratification.

And Wow! I've never heard of a moon dog -- I wouldn't know one if I saw one. Now, I'll be on the lookout -- although, it might help if we'd get some snow...grrrr.
