Meet Winter Sentry, a Robyn Pandolp pattern from her book Stitched with Love: A Mother's Legacy. I do love that book and can certainly see myself doing other quilts from it. I started this hand appliqued project in 2005.
Yesterday, I worked on the small star border. Those are 4 inch blocks! Yea, for a while there I thought I was Libby! lol I tell you, my stiletto sure came in handy. I'm sold on that tool! I will say, I'm pretty proud of how those blocks came out! Sharp!
I haven't given her a name yet! As I continue to machine quilt her I'm sure something will come up. I do like her! She'll look sweet on my brick wall in the kitchen!
Speaking of machine quilting, given that my Bernina 1090 is at the dealer for a cleaning, I used my Bernina 180 for the task. Gosh, what a different experience! There is much more foot pedal control on the 180. I do not need to reduce my speed. I like my 1090 much better for machine quilting, we know each other so well! ;o)
Today will be a library day for me. I have to tend to some much needed school work. sigh! Oh well, I can quilt when I get back this afternoon!
Have a great day every one and thank you for stopping by!

...and a wonderful flimsy it is! She is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you make me *laugh* 4" is not all that small . . . is it? I've been suffering from lack of focus, too. Hope to remedy that quickly. Love the wallhanging . . .it's just darling.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteNot much focus here, either! I want to embroider, applique, piece, etc.
That's a very cute pattern! The star blocks are a perfect frame. Can't wait to see it all done.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable!!! Well worth the wait!!! Now I have to go check out the book. Blogging can be kind of expensive! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour snowman is soooooo cute. Is this another book that I have to have. Is the other patterns in the book as cute as this one
ReplyDeleteVery cute little snowman!!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you end up buying at the Quilted Crow with your gift certificate.
Do you ever buy the yards of unfelted wool from there? Do you know how would you felt them. There are yards of felted wool for sale in my LQS for $49.00 a metre.
Oh, she is a darling and the star border sure finishes off the look!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great quilt and you did a great job piecing and appliquing.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is just so cute and so different, I do not dare to take a peak at the links you gave us, then I am afraid I will be tempted to order something like a book!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a deal little snow girl! Soft and gentle, whispy, delicate. You did/are doing a lovely job on her.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cute! I have that book and love everything in it!
ReplyDeleteOh my Winter Sentry is so cute. I have that book and have never made anything. I look at the pictures once in a while.
ReplyDeleteYour Winter Sentry is darling! Bummer about the school work though--lol!
ReplyDeleteThat flimsy is just adorable. You do such beautiful work!!! LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteUh oh, I'm not familiar with that book and I LOVE your flimsy, what a cute pattern. Good luck with your library visit, you'll be glad to get it done :-).
ReplyDeleteShe's absolutely adorable!! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear your focus is back. Your stitchery is looking wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is she. I haven't seen that pattern. You pieced her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely piece! And to me, 4" blocks are SMALL. Maybe that's why most of my quilts are lap size or bigger :0).
ReplyDeleteHope your trip to the library was productive and the materials you needed were available!
I like very much your Snow woman! Good luck with the 4" blocks and welcome in the 4SQS. Take care.
ReplyDeleteADORABLE!!!
ReplyDeleteI like this, a unique quilt piece ~ compared to what I have done, so far ~ I wouldn't mind trying one of these.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable!! I love it!
