A basket case ...!

I have laid the machine appliqueing of baskets aside for a bit before I, myself, turn into a basket case!

In the meantime, I picked up a BOM I started back in January 2014. The quilt is called Civil War: Peace and Unity designed by Sarah Maxwell and Dolores Smith; the last in a series of quilts commemorating the 150th anniversary of the civil war.

Although I had all the 20 (yea you read right) Court House Step blocks done, I sort of put it away not even planning on completing it. I gave up on this quilt!

But, I kept it all in a plastic bin, sort of "in waiting." I even thought of just piecing the court house step blocks into a small quilt top and call it a done deal!

It wasn't until the Shoppe Troll, aka Nancy, completed her quilt and I was reminded how gorgeous it was. Then, I fell in love with the quilt all over again, vowing to complete the top ... some day!

Well, "some day" came and I pulled it out and started working away on the twelve (12) different blocks. Voila! The pile of blocks!

Guess what I'm working on today!

Wishing you a wonderful day! Cheers!

Happy Mother's day .... !

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day celebration.  My little Pumpkin came up from College for a weekend visit.

We took off early for Montreal so that we'd have time visit my family neighbourhoods. It was fun showing Pumpkin where her grand mother and father grew up. After the grand parents childhood days, we headed off to where I spent most of my childhood.

I grew up in the outskirt of the city and Parc des Hirondelles was my backyard.

It was nostalgic! So much has changed since my childhood years!

Afterwards, we headed off to my mothers to celebrate the day with the rest of my family!

Pumpkin left Monday morning. She will be working all summer at the college. Life sure changes as your kids get older. It's all good!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner in cyberspace! Cheers!

Admiring Mother Nature

This morning I had a meeting to attend. On my way back, I decided to admire the beauty of Mother nature.

I just had to stop and take photographs of Lake Champlain. It was so surreal!

It was just so beautiful with the mist ....

So mystical ... magical ...

The photographs were taken with my Iphone, no filters.

As I drove home, it dawned on me that I "should" keep my Nikon D7000 (professional) in the trunk of my car for such occasions. I am passionate about photography, and do enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner in cyberspace! Cheers!

In the mean time ... !

I've been substituting for our local schools district. I'm sure you will be happy to know that, after an intensive mandatory investigation, not only am I NOT a criminal, I am NOT some sort of predator/offender! I am positive that you now feel much more comfortable following my blog! lol

So far, I have filled in for a 4th grade class, a librarian at a high school/middle school, and substituted for 6th, 7th and 8 grade class, teaching socials studies and geography!

Today, I substituted for a teacher who taught a rambunctious and loud/talkative first grade class.

What a day!

I feel better already!

Cheers!
