Back from spring market ....!

Pittsburgh was wonderful.  I am still assimilating all the knowledge and ideas I acquired.

When I attend these types of convention, I'm on a mission .... one of acquiring as much knowledge as possible within a limited time.  In other words, I push myself to the maximum.  It's actually the first time I come back exhausted.  I'm blaming it on the 11 hour drive back!

I want to share a meaningful picture I took from the convention balcony.

That little tree reminds me of the Little Engine that could!  I stood outside admiring it for at least a half hour!  There it is, growing on a cement pillar, being rattled every now and again by passing trains.  It just spoke to me about life and one's determination.   A powerful image, full of personal meaning!  Wish I had a stronger telephoto lens.

Onward to Spring Market....

Schoolhouse was informative, as always.  Quite the buzz about these new modern fabric designers for RJR Fabrics called Cotton + Steel.

The session was very well presented.  You can learn all about them at this link.  Love my new bag!

One thing about market, you are bagged to no end!!!  Some are worth keeping, like this one! ;o)

For you modern folks, the movement is still quite strong.   Some eye candy ....

and a bit more ...

All very lovely to look at!  The machine quilting on the modern quilts I saw was phenomanal!  So much negative space to work with!

More to come later!  Thanks for stopping by!  Cheers!

Hello from Pittsburgh ...!

Made it safely to Pittsburgh after an 11 hour drive!

Having a grand time!  Lots to share with you.

I met up with Thimbleanna at Sample Spree!  It was great to put a face to a blog!  So sorry, no picture.  We were too busy talking! ;o)

I had a wonderful opportunity to be cruised while being wined and dined by Moda!

Our boat!

Here we are cruising Pittsburgh!

My rowdy table.  Of course I was on my best behavior! ;o)

On your right, the pretty lady in purple, is Desiree from Norway!

Here I am all smiles!

Oh, look up, way up, looks like I captured a UFO!  ;o)

Market is such a great opportunity to meet lots of wonderful people.  I don't know why I waited so long to attend!

Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon!

This little girl is going to ...

Spring Market ....

Oh yea! Pittsburgh PA here I come!  So looking forward to it!  Lots on the agenda!  Will tell you all about it!  I'm psyched!

In the mean time, aside from arranging everything so that nothing falls apart when I'm gone ;), I've been busy learning a new hobby.  Well, not so new since it "was" a serious hobby in my 20s! That would be about 10 years ago! ;)

Instead of knitting sweaters, I'm learning to knit socks!  I seem to be on the 10 year plan for one sock! lol  I think I've taken it apart four times!!!!!

One sock has once again reached the toe, but alas, I noticed a mistake on the side of the heel!  To bad, I'm not taking it apart ... again!  I'm sure no one will scrutinize my heel! lol

On the quilting front, I would like to share with you a quilt I completed a while back and neglected to share!

The pattern is called Golf from the book Traditional Fat Quarter Quilts by Monique Dillard.  Love how it turned out!  The border print is from the Tavern Green collection by Paula Barnes.  The photograph really does not do justice to that gorgeous green print.  Oh well!

Oh I almost forgot!  Did a drawn and Pinylea Creations won!  Please e-mail me you address so that I may send you your prize!

Thanks for stopping!  I'll catch you when I get back or perhaps sooner!  Cheers!

Better late .....!

Finally machine quilted Ruby Garden, a quilt I started hand embroidering the blocks back 2010.  Pieced the top in 2013 and machine quilting in April 2014 .... Sigh!

But .... it's a done deal!  Love that pattern.  Had to re-work the finishing instructions!  That didn't help in the amount of time it took to complete this quilt.

I'm continuing to work on the Words to Live by quilt.  Here is block one - Joy!

Taking the time to prep all of my blocks (when applicable) just makes it easier for me to get the project completed in a timely matter.  It becomes a mass production quilting project! lol

Thanks for stopping by!  Cheers!
